I was so excited today was a vacation day, a much needed day to sleep in a little. But I swear to God my kid knows it’s a day I can sleep in and promptly wakes up at 5am demanding toast. Any other day I have to peel her out of bed when it’s time to go. You can’t make this momlife stuff up.
Anyway this abrupt wake up left me all out of sorts, ungrounded, edgy and in a funk. Since I didn’t have time to meditate due to the wake up party I grabbed my two go-to grounding tools for when I’m in a bind and don’t have time to get “zen”
The black tourmaline is volcanic rock and serves as an anchor to remind me to stay connected to my root. Black Tourmaline is a stone of purification, cleansing the emotional body of negative thoughts, anxieties, anger or feelings of unworthiness, and chronic worry. It also helps to shield our fields against chronic whiners and complainers (Um, hello toddlers) I carry tourmaline with more just about every day, usually in my pocket. If I start to feel like my energy is shooting up into my head or projecting out like energy vomit, I reach into my pocket and hold it tight. It is a reminder to breathe, reconnect, and call my energy back and down into my body. The anchoring effect of the stone is so helpful for me personally. It gives my mind and hands something to do other than freak out.
Balance Blend– Grounding Essential Oil
The Balance blend is a warm woody scent that brings tranquility to your nervous system and triggers your happy hormones like serotonin and dopamine. I usually put a few drops mixed with fractionated coconut oil into my hands and rub it together. Or I will diffuse it in my space while I sit and calmly try to breathe back down into some mom sanity.
What do you do you shake a morning mom funk?
